Our Story

🐾 The People Behind The Box

Two mates, two dogs, one idea that wouldn't quit.

JimJak's started as a conversation and turned into a company. Here's how that happened — and what we're still figuring out, a few weeks from launch.

How It Started

Arguing about it over a pint

Jack's dog is obsessed with anything he can destroy in under ten minutes. Jim's dog would rather sniff a cardboard box for an hour than play with whatever's inside it. Between the two of us, we'd tried most of what's out there — and most of it ended up in a drawer by week two.

So we started asking a different question — not "what can we sell," but "what's actually the moment we're chasing?" It's that bit where your dog goes properly mental with excitement because something new just turned up. That's the thing worth building around.

The conversation didn't go away, so eventually we stopped talking about it and started building it. JimJak's is a monthly box of toys and treats, picked for how much fun your dog will genuinely have with them — not how they photograph.

No Shortcuts Taken

Tracking the build

Every stage of getting JimJak's off the ground, in order — including the bit we're stuck on right now.

1

The idea becomes a name

Jack + Jim. It wasn't a clever brainstorm — it just made sense, so we kept it.

2

First sourcing trip

Testing toys that can get any dogs tail wagging, and treats we'd actually be comfortable giving our own.

3

The hard bit

Designing packaging that doesn't just look decent in a photo — it has to survive a very excited Labrador at the front door.

Weeks from launch

In Progress

We're still finishing the box design. Everything you see from us right now — the good takes and the messy ones — is genuinely how it's going.

Our Promise

What we're actually promising you

🧸

Real toys, not filler

Every item earns its place in the box. If it wouldn't keep our dogs happy, it doesn't go in yours.

🐕

Picked for your dog, not a trend

We test everything ourselves first. Nothing ships because it looked good in someone else's feed.

📦

Built slow, on purpose

It's still just the two of us — sourcing, testing, and packing the first boxes with our own hands.
